Dr. Goodwin was raised in Titusville Pennsylvania.   He graduated from the United States Airforce Academy in 1974 and Tulane University School of Medicine in 1978.  He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in 1983.  Dr. Goodwin is board certified in orthopedic surgery.  He has practiced orthopedic surgery in the Treasure Valley since 1987, founding The Shoulder Clinic of Idaho specializing in treatment of the shoulder in May of 2002.

Thomas M. Chopp
Thomas M. ChoppMD

Dr. Chopp was raised in Grand Rapids Minnesota and graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1984.  He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in 1985 and went on to complete his fellowship at Hughston Sports Medicine Foundation in 2000, with emphasis on shoulder surgery.  He practiced shoulder surgery for seven years in South Dakota before joining The Shoulder Clinic of Idaho in 2007.

Joseph R. Lynch
Joseph R. LynchMD

Dr. Lynch is a graduate of Harvard University and native to the Pacific Northwest. He completed medical school at Oregon Health Sciences University graduating first in his class in 2002.  He then completed residency training in orthopedic surgery as well as fellowship training in shoulder & elbow surgery at the University of Washington.  In addition to being a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic shoulder and elbow specialist, Dr. Lynch also maintains a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.  As a former Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of the Division of Sports Medicine & Shoulder Surgery for the United States Navy, he brings a wealth of expertise, experience, and knowledge to Idaho and the Treasure Valley area.

April Reed

April is an experienced Registered Nurse who has worked in orthopedics, trauma, and general surgery.  April was born and raised in West Virginia and graduated in 1995 with high honors from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  She moved to Boise with her Idaho-native husband in 1998 and they enjoy spending time hiking, skiing, and biking with their two sons.  After 20 years in the hospital setting, April joined the Shoulder Clinic of Idaho in 2016.  She enjoys interacting with patients and their family members and ensuring they have the information and resources needed to meet their goals.
